Italian city pays 30 thousand euros to those who will move to it

The authorities of the small city of Presich in the Italian region Apulia will be paid to people who want to move to the settlement up to 30,000 euros for the purchase of empty housing and settlement in it. It is reported by CNN.

This is not the first Italian city to launch a program to attract new inhabitants. In this way, small cities and villages of Italy are trying to revive empty settlements.

Houses put up for sale as part of the resettlement in Presich, cost from 25,000 euros. Most of them have long been abandoned.

“There are many empty houses in the historical center that we would like to see alive and with new residents. It is a pity to observe how our old areas full of stories, excellent architecture and art are gradually empty,” said CNN, a member of the local council Alfredo Paleze .

New tenants will receive historical houses and an incredible location surrounded by the nature of the Salento region on the “heel” of the Italian boot and not far from the sandy beaches of Santa Maria-Di-Leuk.

Details of the transaction are currently being finalized, but the authorities will begin to accept applications in the coming weeks, when the information is available on the city hall’s website.

“We will offer up to 30,000 euros to people who are ready to move here and buy one of these abandoned dwellings. The total amount will be divided into two parts: partially it will go to the purchase of an old house, and partially – for its restyling, if it takes it. “, – said Alfredo Paleze.

According to the preliminary conditions of the program, in order to get a bonus of 30,000 euros, buyers must settle in Presicha and purchase one of the objects built before 1991, which were applied to the map by the authorities. Housing prices start from 500 euros per square meter.
