ENI intends to comply with existing contractual conditions for the purchase of Russian natural gas and therefore did not open ruble accounts. This was stated by the financial director of ENI Francesco Gattea, reports ANSA news agency.
“We will pay for the received gas in strict accordance with contractual conditions and international sanctions. Currency of the contract and accounts will be in the euro, and we did not open accounts in rubles,” he said.
