One of the priority tasks of the prosecutor’s office and the police is the identification and persecution of persons guilty of crimes committed under undisclosed circumstances. This is stated in a joint statement of the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan.
According to the application, on August 6, 2021 in the house on Soltana Schihaliyeva Street in Kurdamir, the body of Hanumgyz Badalova, born in 1960, with traces of injuries was discovered. The prosecutor’s office of the Kürdimar district opened a criminal case under Article 120.1 (intentional murder) of the Criminal Code.
As a result of complex investigative actions conducted by the prosecutor’s office and the police, including search activities, it was found that Rafael Jafarov, a distant relative killed, came to her home on August 5, 2021. After waiting when Badalova falls ash, Jafarov killed a woman, putting multiple blows with a hammer on the head, and then took 115 manat from her bag.
As a result of operations conducted by the district police station, Rafael Jafarov was detained and transferred to the investigative authorities. Jafarov was charged with several articles of the Criminal Code. With regard to it, a preventive measure is elected in the form of arrest. The investigation continues.
