Jakarta: More Than 6 Million People Suffer From Respiratory Infections Due To Contaminated Air

In the capital of Indonesia, Jakarta, more than 6 million people, they fell ill with acute respiratory infections against the backdrop of a dangerous level of air pollution, reports Jakarta Globe.

According to the publication, a particularly difficult situation is observed in the northern regions of the city, where the concentration of harmful substances in the air reached critical indicators.

The main sources of pollution are 6800 factories, whose smoke emissions seriously worsen the environmental situation. Illegal enterprises that carry out emissions without any control are added to them.

Local authorities warn that while maintaining current conditions, the social health situation may even more aggravated.
