Japan and United States promised to “restrain” China

Japan and the USA began preparing a statement that promises that the two countries will cooperate in order to “contain” and respond to China, reports Reuters with reference to the Nikkei newspaper.

The statement is being prepared on the eve of the meeting of US President Joe Biden with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kisida, scheduled for May 23.

Biden will visit the Republic of Korea and Japan from May 20 to May 24. It is noted that in every country he will hold bilateral meetings with local leaders. In Tokyo, the US president will also meet with the leaders of Australia and India.
