Japan offered to join aukus alliance

Japan received an informal proposal for accession to the Indo-Pacific Defense Alliance Aukus. Its members are Australia, USA and the United Kingdom. It is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the Japanese edition of Sankei.

According to media reports, Aukus countries are interested in using Japanese technological capabilities. In particular, to develop hypersonic weapons and enhancing the possibilities of the radio electronic combat.

Also members of the Alliance want to cooperate in the spheres of cybernetics, quantum technologies and artificial intelligence.

In the Government of Japan, there are positive opinions about joining the alliance. However, the authorities still intend to estimate the effect of participation, since there are bilateral framework for cooperation with three countries.
