In Japan, the death sentence against Takahiro Siraicia, who received the nickname “Twitter-killer” for the murder of nine people with whom he met through the social network X. This was reported by the Japanese media.
Siraii was arrested in 2017 after the dissected bodies of eight women and one man stored in freezers were discovered in his apartment. In 2020, the court sentenced him to the death penalty.
The investigation found that the offender found people with suicidal inclinations on social networks, offered them help and invited them to his home, where he then killed and dismembered them.
The execution was carried out in the Tokyo Investigative Center. The authorities kept information about the date of execution of the sentence secret until the completion of the procedure.
This is the first execution in Japan since July 2022.
Among the countries of the “Big Seven” the death penalty is preserved only in Japan and the USA.
