Japan will purchase from United States up to 500 winged Tomahawk

The Japanese government intends to purchase from the United States up to 500 Tomahawk winged missiles in 2023, the Kyodo agency reports with reference to the source.

It was previously planned that this number of missiles will be bought for five years. It is expected that Japan will acquire missiles of the last model that are used by the US Navy and can be launched from the destroyers of AEGIS of the naval self -defense forces of Japan.

According to the interlocutor of the agency, Tokyo also consultations with Washington to study the possibility of transferring missile deployment in the country from the planned 2026 financial year.
