On Wednesday, September 14, on the initiative of the Iranian side, a telephone conversation was held between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Iran – Jehun Bayramov and Hosyon Amir Abdollahian.
emphasizing that in response to the provocation of Armenia, threatening the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani armed forces took response measures, the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan noted that 50 Azerbaijani military personnel were killed during the prevention, while recovery work was underway in the liberated territories , and attempts are also made to normalize relations between the two states. Jaykhun Bayramov brought to the attention of the Iranian minister that this provocation of Armenia seriously undermined the peaceful process.
In turn, Iranian Foreign Minister said that the tension between Azerbaijan and Armenia is concerned, and noted that the region is not ready for a new conflict.
According to him, the territorial integrity and inviolability of the international borders of the countries of the region is important for Iran. Abdollahian also stated that Tehran advocates a peaceful settlement of issues between Azerbaijan and Armenia through negotiations, and Iran is ready to provide his help in this.
