Jeyhun Bayramov: Disagreements should be solved by negotiation

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with the delegation of the American independent analytical institution “Caspian Policy Center”.

As reported by Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov provided delegations with detailed information on the latest events in the region, including a new post-conflict situation, tripartite statements and issues related to their implementation, the possibility of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia based on principles Territorial integrity and inviolability of internationally recognized borders, the implementation of the process of restoration, reconstruction and reintegration on the liberated territories.

Jeyhun Bayramov noted the steps taken by Azerbaijan in connection with the execution of tripartite statements, including the return of persons in the status of prisoners of war, the transmission of the opposite side of the bodies of about 1,600 Armenian servicemen, as well as the continuation of the relevant negotiations for opening communications.

At the same time, the delegation was informed that Armenia had not yet provided information on four thousand Azerbaijanis who were missing as a result of military actions 1991-1994.

Talking about recent tensions in the border zone of the two countries, the Minister said that Azerbaijan continues to strengthen the border protection system within its territorial integrity and this process is carried out on the basis of cards available from each of the parties. It was emphasized that this issue was politicized by Armenia and that such disagreements should be decided by negotiation.

Touching on energy issues, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov spoke about large-scale projects implemented in this area, their contribution to the development of the region. Sufficient support from the United States of Energy Projects initiated and implemented with Azerbaijan has been noted with satisfaction.

Then the minister answered the questions of the delegation. The parties also exchanged views on bilateral relations and regional security.
