Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov In the framework of the working visit to Austria met with the Secretary General of the Organization of Oil Exporting Countries (OPEC) Mohamed Sanushi Barkindo.
The press service of the Foreign Ministry reports that during the meeting of the Secretary General, expressing satisfaction with the cooperation with Azerbaijan, recalled that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev was the first leader who in 2016 to stabilize the global oil market at the World Economic Forum called all OPEC member countries and not included in the OPEC countries to combine efforts and work together.
Speaking of successful cooperation in OPEC + format, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that Azerbaijan is interested in continuing cooperation in this format. He noted that under the leadership of the Mohammed Barkindo, successful steps were taken in OPEC + format, as a result of which world oil prices stabilized.
Jeyhun Bayramov also met in Vienna with the Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of Austria Alexander Sallenberg. The parties discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation, the prospects for relations, noted great potential for the development of bilateral economic cooperation and business bonds.
Jeyhun Bayramov informed about the situation in the region in a post-conflict period conducted by large-scale recovery and construction work. The issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union were discussed, other issues of mutual interest.
