Jeyhun Bayramov reminded missing 4 thousand Azerbaijanis

Baku calls on the international community, including the Council of Europe, to convince Armenia to abandon the revisions and hatred against Azerbaijan, to take advantage of the unique opportunity for peace, regional cooperation and development. According to the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, speaking today at the 131st meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said that this year the 30th anniversary of the restoration of independence of Azerbaijan and the first year without armed conflict for 30 years of independence were noted.

It was noted that a tripartite statement signed by the leaders of Azerbaijan, Russia and Armenia on November 10, 2020, put an end to the 30-year-old armed conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The meeting was brought to the attention of the meeting that this document created the necessary conditions for the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan on the basis of mutual respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of internationally recognized borders of the two countries.

At the same time, the Minister of Bayramov noted with regret that there are still violations by Armenia of obligations arising from the statement of November 10 and international humanitarian law as a whole. In this regard, it was said that Armenia’s refusal to provide maps of minefields located on the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, causes serious concern.

The minister recalled that Armenia still did not announce the data on about 4 thousand Azerbaijanis, missing during the first Karabakh war: “Armenia also continues to refuse to provide information about the fate of about 4,000 Azerbaijanis who miss themselves as a result of military aggression against Azerbaijan in 1991-1994. “

In his speech, Jayun Bayramov congratulated Germany with the successful completion of the chairmanship in the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe and expressed full support from Azerbaijan the future chairmanship of Hungary.
