Jordan: reason for detention of Brother King

Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Safaddi on Sunday for the first time officially commented on the detention of a number of ex-officials of the Kingdom, saying that they, together with the ex-prince Hampes Ibn Al-Hussein, loosened security in the country, reports RIA Novosti

On Saturday, Petra announced that security forces detained the ex-chapter of the King Jordan’s office of Jordan Avadalla, who also served as the ministerial posts, the former King’s special Salaner in Saudi Arabia Ash-Sharif Ibn Zeid and several other officials. At the same time, the agency has denied with reference to an informed source of the report that there is a prince of Hamza Ibn Hussein among the detainees. The Armed Forces of Jordan stated after that that from the consolidated brother of King Jordan Hamza Al-Hussein demanded to stop the actions that threaten the security of the kingdom, but did not explain the details of the incident.

After that, Hamza Ibn Al-Hussein said that he was placed under the home arrest without the possibility of reaching and deprived of security, while he himself was not accused of something.

“The investigation established the relationship between the Avandalla and the so-called” opposition abroad, “said Safadi at a press conference. Prince of Hamza, in turn, communicated with Avandalla, explained the minister.

According to him, the Jordan Sun, together with intelligence and other security forces, intensively monitored the actions of the ex-prince and detainees, as their activity “was aimed at undermining the security and stability of the kingdom.”

“Full control of the situation, the Jordanian state suppressed these actions in the bud,” Safadi said.

According to the minister, none of the leaders of the Country of the country were detained.

Responding to the question of supporting foreign states in operations against detainees, the minister noted that the operation was carried out exclusively by Jordan security forces.
