Karabakh separatists interfere with peaceful settlement – politician

The refusal of Armenians Karabakh to accept Baku’s proposals for integration and supply routes pose a serious threat to the peaceful settlement of the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the process of achieving a strong world in Karabakh.

This was in an interview with the Anadol agency said the chairman of the Committee of Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan on Legal Policy and State Construction Ali Huseynli.

Huseynli recalled that the Lachin-Khandi road, also known as the “Lachinsky corridor”, is located on the territory of Azerbaijan, therefore, admission and control over deliveries through this corridor are in the framework of the country’s sovereign law.

“The so-called leaders of the separatist Karabakh regime are opposed to the delivery of [cargo] on the road of Agdam-Khandi, since the recognition of this fact means recognition of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan recognizes Armenians Karabakh as their citizens. The Agdam-Hankendi road is 60 km with a length of 60 km The most suitable and convenient route to satisfy their needs, ”Huseynli said.

He noticed that the separatist regime in Hangkendi keeps his population hostage and does not accept Baku’s proposal about integration into the Azerbaijani society.

“All this poses a serious threat to the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and most importantly, the process of achieving a sustainable world in the region,” he added.

Huseynli also commented on the critical statements of a number of American and European officials addressed to Azerbaijan on this issue.

According to him, the accusation of Azerbaijan of “creating a humanitarian crisis” in Karabakh is another manifestation of double standards at the international level.

“accusations against Azerbaijan are unacceptable. The development of events in this direction should be considered as a continuation of the provocations of Armenia. The Yerevan administration is trying to confuse the international community, dissolving false information on this subject,” Huseynli emphasized.
