Kazakhstan began consultations with the United States regarding increased tariffs. This was announced by the head of the Department of Foreign trade activities of the Ministry of Trade and Integration Serik Ashitov.

According to him, the issue will be discussed at the site of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Ashitov noted that the US -introduced measures affect only 4.8 percent of Kazakhstani exports in the United States.
In particular, the main export articles of Kazakhstan, such as oil, uranium, silver, ferroalloys, which account for about 90 percent of Kazakhstani export in the United States, they do not affect.
“To believe that the introduction of these measures will have a significant impact on Kazakhstan exports today. Despite this, the government and the Ministry of Trade and Integration will continue to work, including with American colleagues, to minimize the consequences of such unilateral measures and strengthen our trade relations,” the head of the department added.
In early April, US President Donald Trump set duties on imported goods from 185 countries. Later, Trump decided to suspend the action of mutual duties for 90 days, with the exception of China.
