Kazakhstan: ex-chapter of KNB Masimov and his deputy were arrested

Former Chairman of the National Security Committee (CNB) of Kazakhstan, Karim Masimov and his deputy Anouar Sadykulov, suspected of state treason and actions aimed at violent seizure of power, were taken into custody, RIA Novosti reported in KNB.

In January 8, the KNB reported on the detention of the former chairman of the Masimov Committee on suspicion of state treason, and on January 13, he clarified that the case was also launched in the case of actions aimed at violent seizure of power. Along with Masimov, detained and held in the case of the former deputy chairmen of the CNB: Head of the Special Forces Service “A” Anouar Sadykulov and Daulet Ergogin.

“in relation to Masimov K.K. and Sadykulova A.T. Authorcing a preventive measure in the form of detention. With regard to Ergogin D.E., the issue of election of a preventive measure is considered,” the Committee is responsible for the Agency’s request.
