Kazakhstan: in 2023, 86.3 million cyber attacks were reflected for state bodies and important objects

In Kazakhstan, in 2023, 86.3 million cyber attacks on state bodies and strategically important objects of the country’s infrastructure were reflected. This was announced at a meeting with the President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev by the chairman of the National Security Committee Yermk Sagimbayev, the press service of the Kazakhstani leader said in a statement.

Sagimbayev reported that the KNB units last year at an early stage prevented 2 terrorist attacks in the country and 3 shares together with foreign special services in foreign states.

“Technical divisions of the KNB reflected 86.3 million cyber attacks and 2156 DDOS attacks on the resources of state bodies and strategically important objects of the country’s infrastructure,” Sagimbayev said.

According to him, more than 31 thousand offenders were detained in the field of state security, 739 attempts to transport weapons, ammunition and drugs, as well as the transfer of currency and gold in the amount of 11.7 billion tenge and goods in the amount of 12.6 billion tenge, were stopped .
