Kazakhstan: since beginning of floods, 86 thousand have been evacuated

Rescuers in Kazakhstan since the beginning of March have evacuated 86 thousand citizens from flooding zones.

“From the beginning of the flood, more than 86 thousand people were saved and evacuated. Attracted aircraft were saved by 2823 people. 8472 people are in temporary accommodation points. Over 81 thousand agricultural animals were drove up to a safe place,” the department said in the message on the website of the department .

The sharp melting of snow and spills of the rivers led to flood in most regions of Kazakhstan.

Thousands of houses were flooded in ten regions of the country, transport infrastructure was damaged, especially roads and bridges.

Due to the flood in the West Kazakhstan, Atrau, Aktobe, Kostanay, Pavlodar, Akmolinsky, Karaganda and Ulutau regions, an emergency position of the local scale was announced.

In the clock, 23 thousand people are involved in emergency rescue operations.

134 tons of humanitarian aid were delivered to the injured regions.

The government reported that new houses will be built in the regions affected by floods, the payment of compensation to the victims began.
