Kazakhstani civil servants were accused of trafficking in people

Anti -corruption service in the Kostanay region of Kazakhstan conducts a pre -trial investigation against officials of the state institution “Management of employment coordination and social programs of the Akimat of the region” on the fact of human trafficking, Interfax reports with reference to the Republican Corruption Agency.

“They are suspected of transferring incapable citizen M., who was under the guardianship of the state in one of the social institutions of the region, for operation as free labor in a private boarding house for the elderly in Nur -Sultan,” the report said.

It is noted that one of the suspects from the sanction of the court was taken under house arrest: “The final decision regarding the suspects with a definition of their guilt will be made according to the results of the investigation.”
