Kaztransoyil and Rosneft extended transit of Russian oil to China

KazTRANSOLEL JSC- the National Operator for the Magistral Power supply system of Kazakhstan, entered into an additional agreement with PJSC NK Rosneft to the contract for the provision of Russian oil transportation through the territory of Kazakhstan to the PRC, the press service of the Kazakh operator.

The document will begin to apply from the date of the entry into force of amendments and additions to the agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on cooperation in the field of transportation of Russian oil through the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Chinese People’s Republic of December 24, 2013.

An additional agreement to the agreement between KazTRANSOL JSC and PJSC Rosneft NK provides for the prolongation of the contract before January 1, 2034, the transportation of 10 million tons of Russian oil to the Chinese People’s Republic and the preservation of the current tariff.

In January-April 2023, KazTransoyil JSC carried out a transit of 3.2 million tons of Russian oil to the Chinese People’s Republic.

Atas -Alashankou trunk oil pipeline is part of the Kazakhstan -China trunk oil pipeline system and belongs to the Kazakh -Chinese Pipeline LLP, which is the joint venture of KazTransoil JSC (50%) and the China National Oil and Gas Exploration and Development Company Ltd. (50 %). The design capacity of the Atas -Alashankou trunk pipeline is 20 million tons of oil per year.
