Kenyan Athlete Beatrice Chebet Set Record For 5000 Meters

Kenyan athletics Beatrice Chebet set a world record at the stage of the “Diamond League” in Oregon, running 5000 meters in 13 minutes 58.06 seconds.

She became the first woman in history to overcome this distance in less than 14 minutes.

Champion of the Olympic Games Paris-2024, where she won gold medals at distances of 5000 and 10,000 meters, most of the race in the United States went in a dense fight against the Ethiopian Gudaf Tsgai and Kenynika Agnes Jebet Ngetich.

In the final part of the race, the Chebet was able to break away from the rivals, and three runners focused on the struggle among themselves. As a result, the case improved the world record of the CEGAI by 2.15 seconds.

Ngetich finished the second with a result of 14 minutes 01.29 seconds, and Tsgai took third place with a time of 14 minutes 04.41 seconds.
