First Deputy Minister of Defense – Head of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army General-Colonel Kerim Veliyev met today with a delegation headed by the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Land Forces of the Russian Federation on the peacekeeping activities by Colonel-General Alexei Kim. It is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan.
The meeting discussed issues of execution of the provisions of the statement signed by the Presidents of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Russian Federation and the Prime Minister of Armenia, as well as the operational situation in Azerbaijan, where Russian peacekeepers were temporarily deployed.
In accordance with paragraph 4 of the statements of November 10, 2020, the parties conducted a thorough exchange of views on the conclusion of illegal Armenian armed groups from the territory of Azerbaijan and a number of other issues, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reports.
