King Morocco Muhammad VI pardoned 1526 prisoners on the occasion of the holiday of Kurban-Bayrama.
According to the Ministry of Justice of Morocco, among the pardoned 1305 people were directly in prison.
The amnesty applies to those who were convicted of various courts of Morocco.
In addition, 15 prisoners who declared their commitment to national values and abandoned extremism and terrorism also fell under amnesty.
In Morocco, amnesties are traditionally held before religious holidays. Measures taken within the framework of the constitutional powers of the king are aimed at strengthening the public world and reintegration of convicts in society.
