Moscow supports Serbia in a situation around Kosovo, the requirements of the Kosovo authorities to the Serbs living in the north are unfounded, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said on Monday to reporters.
“We certainly absolutely support Serbia. We are next to Kosovo Serbs. We believe that this is [the requirements of the Kosovo authorities] absolutely unreasonable requirements,” said the Kremlin spokesman quoted by the Russian media.
Western countries, which recognized the independence of Kosovo, should warn the authorities of the region from ill -conceived steps, and the rights of the Serbs living there must be observed, Peskov said.
“We demand that all the rights of the Serbs be respected,” the Kremlin representative emphasized.
