Kremlin: blows to annexed territories will be regarded as aggression against Russia

Any blow to Moscow annexed by the territories of Ukraine will be considered an act of aggression against Russia, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said, Russian media reports.

At the same time, the Russian authorities are not ready to talk about possible nuclear escalation in Ukraine now. “As for the nuclear escalation, people who behave irresponsibly say. We do not want to develop this topic. We urge everyone to behave responsibly,” Peskov noted.

Speaking of the “red lines”, the intersection of which is fraught with a nuclear conflict, Peskov called on journalists to re -read the Russian military doctrine. He was reminded that the doctrine says about the possibility of using nuclear weapons if Russia is jealous of the territorial integrity of Russia, and they asked if there would be blows to the annexed territories regarded as a similar threat.

“You quoted the doctrine completely incorrectly. The correct wording is very important there. I recommend you to read it carefully again,” Peskov answered.

.

The Russian military doctrine says that Moscow reserves the right to use nuclear weapons in the event of aggression against Russia using ordinary weapons, “when the existence of the state is threatened.”

Earlier, pro -Russian administrations of the occupied territories of Ukraine reported almost unanimous support for joining Russia. The European Union and the UN announced the vote by illegitimate. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that Washington was not against Kyiv to use Western weapons to return the regions where the “referendums” were held. The voting results were also not recognized by Turkey, Serbia and Kazakhstan.
