Kremlin on US calls to freeze “Putin’s assets”

US calls for the introduction of sanctions against the leadership of Russia, including the heads of state Vladimir Putin, are politically destructive, but not painful. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, RIA Novosti reports.

According to him, Russian President Vladimir Putin keeps his money in the bank “Russia”, which is under US sanctions.

Peskov noted that the threats of the United States freeze assets are not painful for higher officials of Russia.

“See, let’s say that the congressmen and Senators of the United States are not entirely owned by this theme of the Congressmen and the representatives of the Russian leadership, bank accounts, real estate, and so on, and the like, but this, apparently, is due to that they have no sufficient expertise and they do not request those who are professionally engaged in Russia. The fact is that this is for our law for representatives of the top leadership and officials has long been prohibited. Therefore, of course, such a question is absolutely not painful. For some of the representatives of the highest leadership, “he explained.
