Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday, October 17, that a meeting between the leaders of the two countries could take place in the next two weeks. “It can really take place within two weeks or a little later. There is a general understanding that there is no need to put anything on the back burner,” he noted.
Peskov clarified that the foreign ministers of Russia and the United States are preparing a personal meeting of the leaders. According to him, the telephone conversation that took place the day before was initiated by Russia “following the successful trip of the US President to the Middle East.”
