Kremlin: Putin did not discuss drones with authorities of Iran

President Vladimir Putin did not discuss the issue of the supply of drones with the Iranian authorities, said the assistant to the head of the Russian state Yuri Ushakov. This topic was not raised either in negotiations with President Ibrahim Raisisi, nor with the supreme leader Ali Khamenei, reports RBC.

According to Ushakov, Putin and Khamenei discussed “conceptual issues” – the situation in the world and bilateral relations.

On July 12, the US Presidential Assistant Jake Sullivan said that, according to Washington, Tehran intends to transfer to Moscow to several hundred drones, including those capable of carrying weapons. According to him, Russia is going to use them in the war in Ukraine. In the Iranian Foreign Ministry did not confirm this. Iranian Minister Hossain Amir Abdollahian, in a conversation with Ukrainian colleague Dmitry Kuleboy, called Sullivan’s words unfounded, recalls the publication. Last week, Sullivan told CNN that the Russian delegation at least twice in July visited the Kashan airfield in Iran to study the combat drones of the Shahed-191 and Shahed-129. The day before, the representative of the State Department of Ned Price promised that the United States and other countries would impose new sanctions against Iran in case of decision to transfer Russia’s apparatus.
