Kremlin: Russia Highly Appreciates Assistance Of DPRK Military In Kursk Region

Russia expresses its deep gratitude to the DPRK military personnel participating in demining the territories of the Kursk region. This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the work of North Korean sappers involved in clearing the area of explosive devices.

“We are grateful and grateful to our friends from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea for their selfless, heroic assistance,” said Peskov, whose words were quoted by Russian media.

The Kremlin representative stressed that Moscow highly appreciates the contribution of specialists from the Korean People’s Army to joint work with Russian units.

The sapper unit was sent to Russia on the personal orders of the DPRK leader Kim Jong-un. The participation of specialists became possible within the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership agreements reached in June 2024 during negotiations between Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un in Pyongyang.
