The Russian side will prepare and transmit Ukraine a list of conditions for the ceasefire. This was stated by the Kremlin representative Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the results of peace negotiations between the Russian Federation and Ukraine in Istanbul.
“Indeed, we have agreed to exchange lists of conditions for the ceasefire, the work is ongoing, it is being carried out, the Russian side will prepare and transmit such a list with the Ukrainian side. What will probably not be announced there, negotiations still go and should go in a closed mode,” said the Kremlin’s representative, whose words are given by Russian media.
Speaking about the next round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, Peskov said that so far we are talking about the implementation of the agreements that were discussed during the meeting on May 16.
“So far, it is necessary to do what the delegation has been able to agree on yesterday. This, of course, is, first of all, to fulfill the exchange of 1000 by 1000, and exchange the main lists of the conditions that were talked about yesterday, and, about which my colleague (assistant to the President of the Russian Federation) Medinsky said yesterday,” Peskov said, answering the corresponding question.
The Kremlin representative also commented on the possibility of meeting the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.
“Such a meeting as a result of the work of the delegations of the two parties when reaching certain agreements of these delegations is possible. We consider it possible. But it is precisely as a result of the work and upon the achievement of certain results in the form of agreements of the two parties,” he emphasized.
Peskov noted that it is important for Russia who exactly from Kyiv will sign the documents in case of agreements of the delegations of the Russian Federation and Ukraine.
“When signing the documents that the delegations are to sign, for us, the main and fundamental remains who exactly will sign these documents from the Ukrainian side,” said the Kremlin representative.
Answering the question whether the composition of the Russian delegation may change in the future or it will continue to work in the same composition, Peskov said that there is no talk of changing its composition in negotiations with Ukraine.
“At the moment, there is no talk of this. Actually, the work has just begun. It will continue,” he said.
Peskov also announced the absence of at the moment of contacts of the leaders of Russia and the USA after peaceful negotiations in Istanbul.
