Kremlin said that “there would be an important meeting” Erdogan and Putin

The Kremlin expects that at the upcoming meeting of the leaders of Russia and Turkey Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan on October 13 in Kazakhstan, Ankara will present the initiative to resolve the situation in Ukraine, said the assistant to the Russian leader Yuri Ushakov.

“There will be an important meeting, to which, it seems to me, special attention will be focused on the part of the press. This is a meeting with Erdogan. I will mention the intermediary role of Turkey – Ankara is trying and quite successfully fulfilling such a role in the context of issues related to Ukraine” – said Ushakov, whose words are given by Russian media.

In Astana, on October 13, the sixth summit of the meeting on the interaction and confidence measures in Asia (SMVDA) will be held. Earlier it was reported that the heads of the two states intend to discuss the implementation of the “grain transaction”, the situation in Ukraine and energy cooperation.

According to Ushakov, the role of Ankara in the issue of resolving in Ukraine has recently grown, the media disseminates that Turkey has activated an intermediary role and is trying to organize negotiations between the parties on its territory – in Istanbul or Ankara.

.

I think, it can be expected that Erdogan will present the proposals that are now in the media. Various formats are mentioned there: Russia, the USA, the leading countries of Western Europe. But this is all no more than messages in the press, ” – He said.

Ushakov also said that Putin and Erdogan have been conducting 13 telephone conversations since the beginning of the year and have been encountered almost every month.
