The Kremlin announced the lack of reaction from the United States to statements by Russian President Vladimir Putin at an operational meeting with permanent members of the Security Council about the advisability of preparing for nuclear tests, as well as the tests of Poseidon and Burevestnik. This was stated by the Russian leader’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov, answering a corresponding question.
“No, it didn’t,” said the Kremlin representative.
At the same time, Peskov noted that the reaction of the Western media to Putin’s order to work on the issue of the need to begin preparations for possible nuclear tests was “emotional” and “going along the lines of anti-Russian hysteria.”
“Many do not disdain simply the fact that to distort the meaning of what was said. And all this goes in line with this militaristic, anti-Russian hysteria that is now raging in the countries of Western Europe,” he said.
The Kremlin spokesman also responded to the words of NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, who said that he had stopped monitoring the activities of the President of the Russian Federation.
“That is, on the one hand, they say that they are not listening to Russia, but on the other hand, they say that they don’t understand it,” Peskov said, noting that this is the problem with the alliance and its leaders. “Try to listen, you will understand,” he advised.
Speaking about the upcoming Central Asia-US summit, the Kremlin representative noted that such communication formats are “widely practiced.”
“Putin regularly communicates with the leaders of Central Asia. Moreover, the president has very good, sincere, friendly relations with all of them, which allow him to deal with interstate affairs very effectively,” he said.
