Kyrgyzstan discuss trade and economic cooperation of SCO member states

In Bishkek, a meeting of the Ministers of the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), responsible for foreign economic and foreign trade activities, began, Kabar reports.

As part of the meeting, the parties will consider the implementation of the provisions of the program of multilateral trade and economic cooperation of the SCO member states, exchange views on the current state and prospects for the further development of multilateral business and investment partnerships in the SCO.

Minister of Economics and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan Daniyar Amangeldiev in his speech emphasized that the agenda of today’s event is very relevant and requires effective decisions and measures to further expand trade and economic ties in the SCO region, improve the investment potential and implement the joint projects of the SCO.

“I consider it important to intensify the work on the effective promotion of the SCO goals, in terms of ensuring long -term economic progress, including by effective response to short -term crises,” he said.

Amangeldiev noted that this is primarily a food security crisis associated, inter alia, with climatic changes, violation of the functioning of international transport corridors for the delivery of food products and an increase in energy prices.

In this context, the head of the IEC Kyrgyz Republic offered the participants:

– develop an international transport logistics system to ensure uninterrupted delivery of goods;

– expanding cooperation on digital trade, which in the future will simplify trading procedures;

– to expand the use of renewable energy sources and energy-saving production technologies.
