Kyrgyzstan: ethno-festival “Traditional cuisine of Turkic peoples” was held in Kyrgyzstan

June fifth in the ethnographic complex of Supara Chunkurchak in Kyrgyzstan, the first international ethno-festival “Supara: traditional cuisine of the Turkic peoples”.

The organizers of the Ethno -Festival are the International Organization of the Turkic Culture (Turks) and the ethnorezort of Supara Chunkurchak at the ethnographic complex SUPARA. Coordinator: the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The festival was attended by masters of culinary art from Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Northern Macedonia, Hungary and Kazakhstan.

The jury alternately went around the stands of the participants, tasted dishes and drinks prepared by contestants, got acquainted with their history.

At the opening of the festival, the Secretary General of Turks Sultan Raev spoke. He focused on the place and significance of cooking in the life of the Turkic peoples.

He noted that many customs and traditions of the Turkic peoples are associated with joint eating.

“We strive to revive the forgotten traditional dishes of the Turkic world, to explain their philosophy,” said Raev, designating the organizers of the festival.
