Kyrgyztan: joint exercises with peacekeeping forces of CSTO

In Kyrgyzstan, at the Edelweiss training ground, a ceremony of opening the active phase of joint exercises with the peacekeeping forces of the Organization of Collective Security (CSTO) “Ireless Brotherhood-2023” was held, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic said

The main goals of the exercise are the improvement of practical skills of officials of the governing bodies and personnel of the CSTO peacekeeping units, increasing the coherence of military units and units in the implementation of tasks during the operation to maintain peace in the Central Asian region of collective security.

During the exercise in the highlands, the tasks of post -conflict settlement in the crisis zone will be practiced – conducting a peacekeeping operation using the forces and means of collective security system of the CSTO and the provision of humanitarian assistance.

Practical actions provide for the implementation by collective peacekeeping forces, together with the units of the Ministry of Emergencies, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Customs Service of the CSTO member states, the development of educational and combat tasks on checkpoints and reception points, when accompanied by columns and goods, the liberation of the settlement, salvation of “hostages” and provision Humanitarian assistance.

The teachings are attended by national contingents of the peacekeeping forces of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan, operational groups of the United Staff and the Secretariat of the CSTO

In total, about 1,500 military personnel, more than 200 units of special, armored and automobile equipment, military transport, fighter and army aviation, unmanned aviation and military boats were involved in the exercise.
