Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met in the city of Lachin with Pakistan Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.
According to the Administration of the President of Azerbaijan, Prime Minister Sharif, who arrived in Lachin for negotiations, held a meeting with President Aliyev.
During the meeting, Sharif expressed satisfaction with his visit in Karabakh and East Zangezur and emphasized that this visit is a clear evidence of Pakistan’s support “Karabakh is Azerbaijan!”.

Prime Minister Sharif congratulated Aliyev on the offensive Independence Day of Azerbaijan and noted that he was impressed by the work on the restoration and development carried out in Lachina and his environs under the leadership of the president. Paying attention to the natural beauty of the region, the Sharif said that in the future these places will become an important tourist destination.
President Aliyev recalled that Lachin was one of the first regions of Azerbaijan occupied in 1992. According to him, during the 30-year-old Armenian occupation, the city underwent great destruction, and the inhabitants suffered from ethnic purges. Aliyev added that today, work on comprehensive restoration and relocation is underway at the territories released from the occupation.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif recalled that a truce was achieved between Pakistan and India. Pakistan gives great importance to the establishment of peace and stability in the region.
President Aliyev, in turn, expressed satisfaction with positive changes in the direction of the regional world and the ceasefire and spoke out for solving all problems through dialogue.
The parties also exchanged views on the development of economic and trade relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, deepening cooperation in the field of science, education, high technology and student exchange.
During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed that tomorrow in Lachin a trilateral summit of Azerbaijan-Sturge-Pakistan with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan would be held. According to the leaders, the meeting will become a vivid reflection of brotherhood and friendship between the three countries.
