Largest SES in Europe opens in Turkey

In the Turkish province of Konya on Tuesday, May 5, the opening of the largest solar power plant (SES) in Europe will be opened.

Active financial support to the project was provided by the British government. The total cost of the SES project is estimated at $ 1 billion. A significant share of this amount is allocated through the British export-credit agency UKEF.

The solar power plant will produce 3 billion kW of electricity annually, which corresponds to 1 percent of electricity consumption in Turkey.

At the expense of the new SES, about 2 million people will be satisfied.

In addition, the power plant will prevent emissions of 2 million tons of harmful substances into the environment.
