Last of liberators of Auschwitz died in Germany

David Dudan, who as part of the Red Army participated in the liberation of the Zevwitzim concentration camp, died aged 98 years in Munich. He was officially considered the last fighter who participated in this operation, reports the Israeli edition vesty.co.il.

According to official Soviet historiography, David Dvanman on January 27, 1945 on his T-34 tank broke into the territory of Auschwitz, destroying the fence from barbed wire. Later, the veteran himself repeatedly told about this event.

David Duncher, who graduated from the war by Major, told that he took part in the two most important battles – in Stalingrad and near Kursk. Washed three times, it turned out to be among 69 survivors in his division.

After the war, David Dwanman was playing sports, in 1951 he won the Championship of the Soviet Union for fencing on the swords. Then for a long time he trained the women’s USSR national team for fencing. In the 1990s, David Dushman went to Austria, and from there to Germany.
