Latvia signed an agreement on the purchase of Himars missile systems and ammunition for a total of about 180 million US dollars (164.2 million euros).

Himars systems can be obtained in 2026-2027, said the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Defense Janis Garisss.

As reported, a recently was concluded on the supply of Latvia of the anti -ship missile systems Naval Strike Missile (NSM) in the amount of 105 million US dollars (97.4 million euros), while most of the expenses will cover the American side. NSM systems are produced by the American company Raytheon and Norwegian Kongsberg.

It is planned that the introduction of NSM will begin in 2026, and the full delivery will be carried out in 2027.

On November 30, the Latvian Ministry of Defense signed an agreement on the supply of the IRIS-T medium-range air defense system. The amount of the contract with the German company Diehl Defense is about 600 million euros. Latvia will receive the system in 2026.
