Lavrov announced meeting on unlocking communications in South Caucasus

The meeting of the tripartite working group to unlock transport communications will be held next week. The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov reported on the results of negotiations with the Foreign Minister of the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan and Armenia Jaykhun Bayramov and Ararat Mirzoyan.

“next week, a meeting of a tripartite group should take place under the guidance of Deputy Prime Ministers on the issues of unlocking transport communications. We hope that the results will be achieved by a positive result. The parties are already close to the final agreement,” said the Russian Minister.

According to him, the parties agreed to hold a meeting of the bilateral commission and demarcation of the border with the advisory participation of Russia.

He assured that the Russian Federation intends to further contribute to the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Lavrov said that the Foreign Minister of Armenia and Azerbaijan said that without improving the security situation in Karabakh, work on a peace treaty was difficult.

The Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation added that Armenia and Azerbaijan at negotiations in Moscow were able to bring an understanding to a common vision on the topic of a peace treaty.
