Lavrov: Russia has increased level of relations with Turkey and other countries

Russia over the past period has significantly increased the level of interaction with the CIS, China, India, Iran, Turkey and Arab countries. This was stated on Tuesday by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at the 40th meeting of the Council of Heads of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.

“I especially emphasize that over the past period the level of interaction with the CIS, PRC, India, Iran, Turkey, Arab countries has significantly increased. I would like to note a significant activation of the connections between the municipalities,” Lavrov said.

According to him, the relations of the Russian Federation with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are built in the channel of allies, strategic partnership based on equality, mutual respect, principles of friendship and good neighborliness.

“Political dialogue helps to develop active investment cooperation, helps to solve issues that ensure stable growth of trade. Scientific, educational and humanitarian ties are successfully developing. 25 branches of leading Russian universities and two joint Slavic universities (Kyrgyz-Russian and two joints of the Central Asia. Tajik -Russian), – the minister said.

Along with bilateral cooperation with each of the Central Asian countries, work in six -sided format (Ts5+Russia) has been established and activated, Lavrov said.
