This was stated by the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, referring to the participants of the seventh forum of young diplomats of the countries of Islamic cooperation, which this year takes place as part of the Russia -Islamic World International Economic Forum: Kazanforum 2023 “.
“Traditionally, Russia develops friendly relations with the vast majority of Muslim countries. We are united by commitment to building interstate cooperation on the principles of equal rights, mutual accounting of interests and finding a balance of interests. We always consistently support the cultural and civilizational diversity of the peoples of the world, their natural right to determine the models and ways of its development, ”said Lavrov.
According to him, the topic of the current discussion – “Diplomacy of the new multipolar world” is very relevant. “The trunk trend of modern international development is the strengthening of a new, more stable, fair, democratic polycentric world order. New world centers in Eurasia, Asia -Pacific region, in the Middle East, Africa, Latin America achieve impressive successes in various fields – based on independence , state sovereignty and cultural and civilizational identity. At the same time, they are guided by their indigenous national interests, they pursue an independent foreign policy, ”the minister expressed.
Lavrov pointed out that Russia consistently proceeds from the fact that the development of international relations in confrontation mode is a deadlock path.
“It is necessary to avoid a meaningless and extremely dangerous confrontation of world centers. The access to a new, verified balance of interests is in demand. It is important to ensure that the emerging multipolar world order is not powerful, namely, legal regulation – with the support of the UN Charter, primarily on the unconditional respect of the principle of sovereign equality states, ”said Lavrov.
In addition, the head of Russian diplomacy emphasized that the Russian Federation is ready for the closest cooperation with friends from the Muslim world, with all other partners who share interest in strengthening legal, democratic principles of international life.
