In the struggle to preserve the unipolar world, the West uses the situation in Ukraine as an excuse to attract other states to its side, said the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
“Of course, these processes (in the world, ed.) are a turning point. There is a multipolar world, and our Western colleagues are trying to prevent these processes who want to preserve and spread their dominance to all regions. They are trying to mobilize their banners under their banners All other countries, using the situation in Ukraine and around it as an excuse, ”said the Russian minister during a meeting with the General Secretary of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIS) Hussein Ibrahim Tahoy.
This indicates the presence of unresolved problems in Europe, Lavrov is sure.
“We appreciated the balanced, objective position that the organization of Islamic cooperation took, like the League of the Arab states and the Council of Cooperation of the Arab States of the Persian Gulf with respect to what is happening. I hope that our Western partners at some stage are aware of the need to consider world problems, coordination of ways of their further development of the international community not on the basis of dictatorship, but on the basis of the principles of the UN Charter, primarily a principle, which implies respect for the sovereign equality of states, ”said the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation.
“We are ready for such a dialogue, but exclusively on an equal mutual respectable basis,” concluded Lavrov.
