Leader of ISIS was detained in Turkey

The Turkish intelligence agencies detained the leader ISIS Abu al-Hassan al-Kureishi in Istanbul, Izvestia reports with reference to the Turkish media.

The results of the operation, which was carried out a week earlier, will soon be announced by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The operation was carried out by the National Intelligence Organization of Turkey together with the Office for the Combat of Terrorism, the media noted.

Abu al-Hasan al-Kureishi, the brother of the former leader of IS Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi became the head of the IG in March 2022. His real name is Juma Avad al -Badri.
