Leaders of Armenia and France discussed Karabakh

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a telephone conversation with France President Emmanuel Macron.

According to the press service of the Armenian government, the leaders discussed the situation in Karabakh.

“The interlocutors touched on the current situation in the region. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the deepening of the humanitarian crisis in Karabakh,” the message says.

The interlocutors pointed out the importance of consistent efforts to ensure stability and peace in the region.

Earlier, Aikhan Gadjizade, press secretary of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, said that the biased statements of France President Emmanuel Macron, voiced on August 28, undermine the peace process, create a wrong impression of the current situation in the region and unilaterally protect Armenia.

The document notes that the expression by the President of France, based on statements about the humanitarian situation in the region, once again testifies to the erroneous policy of this country.

According to Hajizade, such formulations as the “Lachin humanitarian corridor” used by the President of France, as well as forced narrative, are unacceptable, are disrespect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.

Hajizade recalled that every day dozens of residents of Armenia use the Lachin road and pass through the border point:

“Azerbaijan proposals for the transportation of goods by Agdam-Khandi and other alternative routes and in response to the politicization of this issue by Armenia and persons who pretend to be representatives of the residents of Armenia, as well as issues with illegal transportation along this road well Frances are known. Instead of contributing to the implementation of the agreements reached in early August in this direction, opinions that support the provocative steps of Armenia are expressed, which are one of the factors that directly impede this process. “
