On October 10, a one-on-one meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon took place in Dushanbe. The press service of the head of state of Azerbaijan reported this.
According to the message, the contribution of high-level mutual visits to the further expansion of cooperation in various fields was noted.
It was emphasized that the meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State in Dushanbe provides a good opportunity to discuss topical issues.
At the meeting, the presidents Azerbaijan and Tajikistan noted the successful development of bilateral relations and exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation.
Ilham Aliyev, speaking at a meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State in a narrow format in Dushanbe, noted the progressive development of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and Azerbaijan.
“I would like to note the progressive development bilateral relations between Tajikistan and Azerbaijan. They are based on brotherhood, friendship, mutual support and have great development potential,” said the head of state.
He recalled that the III CIS Games were held in Azerbaijan from September 28 to October 8. “Events of this kind strengthen friendship and cooperation in the CIS space and beyond, contribute to strengthening relations based on equality, consideration of mutual interests and mutual respect,” the president noted.
