The heads of state of Central Asia signed a number of important documents following the results of the VII Consultative Meeting, which took place on November 16 in Tashkent with the participation of the leaders of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
As reported by the press service of the President of Kazakhstan, the heads of state signed a Joint Statement following the meeting, as well as an appeal to UN member states in support of the candidacy Kyrgyzstan for the post of a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2027-2028.
In addition, a decision was approved on Azerbaijan’s accession as a full participant in the format of Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia. Previously, Baku took part in the meetings as an invited party.
As part of the Joint Statement, the presidents also approved two strategic documents: the Concept of regional security, stability and sustainable development in Central Asia, as well as the Catalog of regional security risks and measures to prevent them for 2026-2028.
It is noted that the approved documents are aimed at strengthening political dialogue in the region, improving mechanisms for collective response to trans-border threats and development sustainable cooperation between the countries of Central Asia.
