Leaders of Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan discussed cooperation

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, as part of a meeting of the Council of the Heads of the State Party of the CIS in Bishkek, met with a colleague of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdymuhamedov. This was reported by the press service of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.

A wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation was discussed, including trade and economic interaction, cooperation in the energy sector, as well as the agenda of the upcoming meeting of the CIS.

Zhaparov noted that Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to the expansion and qualitative development of trade and economic ties, considering Turkmenistan as a significant economic partner.

Sadyr Zhaparov outlined the interest of the Kyrgyz side in the further strengthening and increasing cooperation with Turkmenistan, the implementation of new promising projects in the field of trade, investment and logistics to disclose this potential. This context indicates the role of the intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Turkmen commission on trade, economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian cooperation.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov, in turn, emphasized that Kyrgyzstan is a fraternal state for Turkmenistan. He expressed his readiness to continue fruitful cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in all areas of mutual interest, including in the trade and economic sphere.

The President of Turkmenistan with satisfaction noted the increasing volume of mutual trade between the countries, indicating the need to maintain this dynamics and find new opportunities for its further growth.

The leaders of the countries agreed to further strengthen and increase cooperation in areas representing mutual interest.
