Leaders Of Turkey And Great Britain Discussed Bilateral Relations, Regional And Global Issues

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is in Egypt for the peace summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, received British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. The President said that Turkey is making intensive efforts to stop the attacks in Gaza and achieve a truce, and that efforts to ensure a permanent truce and open a path to peace will continue.

According to a statement by the Office of Communications of the Presidential Administration, the meeting discussed bilateral relations between Turkey and the UK, as well as regional and global issues.

The President recalled that the parties are working to develop cooperation between Turkey and the UK in all areas, primarily in the defense industry.

Erdogan noted that Turkey is making intensive efforts to stop the attacks in Gaza and achieve a truce, and that efforts to ensure a permanent truce and open the way to peace will continue with with even greater intensity.

The head of state stressed that humanitarian aid must continuously flow into Gaza and it is necessary to immediately begin the reconstruction of Gaza.

According to the president, lasting peace can only be ensured through a two-state solution and the efforts of the international community in this direction are of great importance.
