Leaders Of Uzbekistan And Qatar Discussed Expanding Strategic Partnership

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani discussed the prospects for further deepening the strategic partnership and increasing practical interaction. The meeting took place in Doha as part of the working visit of the Uzbek leader.

The text of the statement was published by the press service of the President of Uzbekistan on Tuesday, November 4.

At the beginning of the negotiations, Mirziyoyev congratulated the Emir of Qatar on the successful holding of the second UN World Summit on Social Development, noting the high level of organization and significance of the forum.

The parties expressed satisfaction with the dynamics of bilateral ties. According to the Uzbek side, trade turnover between the countries has increased by 45% since the beginning of the year, and large investment projects are being implemented with the participation of Qatari companies. Interparliamentary, cultural and humanitarian exchanges are actively developing.

Particular attention is paid to cooperation in the field of green energy, transport, geological exploration, textile industry, tourism and infrastructure projects.

In addition, the leaders exchanged views on current issues of the international and regional agenda, emphasizing the importance of strengthening dialogue and mutual support within international organizations.
